Note
|
Nancy, Thomas Little's wife, may have been a Wellborn. In her will she names William Wellborn, "my friend and relation" as her executor, however she doesn't appear in any Wellborn research. According to the First Families of Henry County, she may have been a Fernandez or Farnandis. In Union County Deed Book W, page 309 it states that Elizabeth Farnandis sold 69 acres to Nancy Little which was from a plat deeded to Henry Farnandis from William Hodge. Witnesses were J. S. Simms and Adam Little, dated 11/10/1834. The next deed in the book is from Miss Caroline Farnandis to Elizabeth Farnandis and shows this land on the Pacolet River adjoining Nancy Little. According to the notes from Warren Little of Union County, the Farnandis (Fernandez) family was a strange Spanish-Irish mix that came to South Carolina from Maryland. That may account for names like Ferdinand, Silas and Zabud!) |
